English & Music

Our English and Music Programme combines 25 English lessons in the mornings with 4 one-to-one music lessons in the afternoons. Course participants will focus on their preferred musical instrument or voice training.

Our tutors are professional, world class, musicians with many years experience in pop, classical, jazz, Irish traditional and many other styles. Whether your preference is song-writing, violin performance, piano, guitar, saxophone, or many other instruments we have some of the best teaching professionals in Ireland.
Participants must bring their own instruments if they are portable. Some instruments may be hired for an additional fee.

This course combines the opportunity to learn English with the chance to develop your ability in your chosen sporting area. Individual tuition is available for those who love the active lifestyle.

If you’re not sure which module to choose, a teacher can help you to identify what you need when you arrive at Oscars International. These Skills Modules can be booked at any time during your course and for as long as you wish. To make the most of your time at Malvern House we recommend that you book one of the following, or to have them included in your course, choose the Standard English course.
Beginner A1
You Can:
You can understand very basic, everyday phrases and may respond with short, simple answers. You can exchange basic personal information, if the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
Expected number of weeks necessary to change levels studying intensive english:
A1 to A2: 6-8 weeks
Elementary A2
You Can:
You can interact in a simple way on concrete everyday subjects, such as
family information, shopping etc. You can communicate in routine tasks on familiar
subjects.

A2 to B1: 10 to 12 weeks
Pre Intermediate B1
You Can:
You can converse in a fairly limited way on your background, the immediate environment and on matters of direct need. You can express basic opinions and wishes.

Intermediate B1+
You Can:
You can understand and respond to the main points in a variety of everyday situations and also more abstract topics, but have a limited range of style and expression.

Upper Intermediate B2
